Azerbaijan is set to significantly expand direct air connections with Israel as demand from travelers continues to grow rapidly. In response to the sharp increase in tourist arrivals, the number of weekly flights between Tel Aviv and Baku is expected to nearly double, rising from 14 to 28 services.
According to industry estimates, the flow of visitors from Israel has more than doubled over the past year, making the country one of the fastest-growing inbound markets for Azerbaijan’s tourism sector. At the same time, tourist spending has increased, highlighting not only higher visitor numbers but also stronger economic impact.
Experts attribute this surge in interest to several factors. Baku attracts travelers with its unique mix of history and modernity, combining a UNESCO-listed Old City, contemporary architecture, seaside promenades and a vibrant culinary scene. Convenient flight times, short travel distances and a reputation for safety and hospitality have also made Azerbaijan an appealing choice for short breaks and city getaways.
The expansion of air services is expected to further strengthen tourism, business travel and cultural ties between the two countries. Industry specialists believe that increased connectivity will make trips easier and more flexible, encouraging even more Israeli visitors to discover Azerbaijan in the coming seasons.
With demand continuing to rise, Israel is becoming one of the key source markets in Azerbaijan’s broader strategy to develop international tourism and strengthen global partnerships.
